What are ICEtags & How Do They Work?

ICE stands for In Case of Emergency – and that’s exactly what our NFC-enabled ICEtags are designed for: fast, secure access to emergency contact numbers when every second matters. Whether your child is at school, on an outing, or just playing down the road, their safety is always close at hand.

Each ICEtag contains a tiny passive NFC (Near Field Communication) chip embedded inside a durable 3D-printed shell. When tapped by any NFC-enabled smartphone, the tag, the phone displays the contact number – no app required.

πŸ“² Tap to access: Most modern Android and iOS devices can scan the tag simply by holding the phone close.

πŸ” Secure & Private: No GPS, no constant tracking, no batteries, no charging – the tag only activates when tapped.

🌍 Works offline: Since the info is stored via a local directory on the tag, no internet connection is required.

Compatibility Note, Expanded:

Android devices are capable of reading more than one number, or record, from one single tag. Both numbers are displayed when the tag is tapped.

iOS devices cannot read multiple numbers, or records. Only the first entry will display when the tag is tapped.

Despite this limitation, its recommend to load 2 numbers:

βœ… If the tag is scanned by an Android phone, both numbers will show up.
βœ… If it’s scanned by an iPhone, only the first number will appear – but the second still remains embedded in the tag and can be accessed on another scan from a compatible device.

This ensures redundancy and flexibility, especially in shared environments like schools or public areas where various devices may be used.
